Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act (FACTA), all consumers are entitled to one free credit report every 12 months from each of the three major credit reporting bureaus. This means you can get three free credit reports per year.
You can get a free credit report by going to annualcreditreport.com. This is a site set up under FACTA.
Please be aware that many sites will provide one free credit reports as part of a package for which there is a charge. However, if just want a free credit report then please go to the link above — and ONLY the link above.
