How Do Stick-Built And Modular Construction Compare?
August 30th, 2008 By Peter G. Miller
Both approaches have value. Modular elements can be constructed indoors, to specific measurements, and in standardized units. Alternatively, a good contractor can solve problems on the spot with solid workmanship and clever planning.
Rather than which system is better, the deciding factors are probably the materials used and the skills of the builder or factory.
Also, in today’s marketplace many new homes include both modular and stick-built elements. The idea is not that either system is always better, but rather that in certain situations one approach may be superior.
