In real estate what’s a “conservator?”

It can happen through age, accident or for other reasons that individuals can no longer handle their personal affairs. In such instances, a court may appoint someone to oversee that individual’s assets to assure the owner receives all possible benefits.
Also known as a “guardian” or “receiver,” a “conservator” may be responsible for the sale, rental, or refinancing of an individual’s real and person property. Major transactions by a conservator typically require court approval before being finalized.
Rules regarding conservators vary by state, so check with an attorney or legal for details and specifics.
