Who Pays If A Home Inspection Is Unsatisfactory?

Unless buyers have a provision in the sale agreement requiring the owner to make such a payment, the cost of an inspection is the purchaser’s obligation.

The fact that the house did or did not “pass” is not the issue. A service was performed and that service helped the buyer gain a better understanding of the property and its condition.
