Privacy is an interesting issue. It is not addressed, directly, in the Constitution, in fact, the “right to privacy” was proposed in an 1890 Harvard Law Review article by Louis Brandeis and Samuel Warren.
If you are concerned about personal mortgage data falling into unauthorized hands, then you may to ask lenders how your data is handled under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act and applicable state regulations.
